This is a helpful and amazing marriage tool!
Brian and Cherie Lowe are down to earth, intelligent, and really raw about their experience but not so far out in left field that you don’t feel you can relate. There were times I was laughing out loud and times I was shaking my head and shouting, “amen!” There were also times I realized that I simply had not thought through some of the situations and questions the authors posed. At first, I thought, “I’m not sure I’m the target audience on this. My husband and I don’t argue about our finances and it definitely doesn’t affect what goes on in our bedroom.” But….that’s not really what this book is all about. These two give so many practical and relatable stories from their lives in how they have handled money and how those who are married can communicate about money, get on the same page, have more harmony in the home, and even enjoy more time together in the bed.I loved the section about how to honor a spouse who isn’t on the same page as you when it comes to financial goals. So honoring. So kind. So not what you typically read from other authors. It’s so important to honor your spouse above all else and I appreciated so much that they focused on this. The end of each chapter offers discussion questions for you and your spouse to review and discuss, as well as suggestions on how you can foster “financial foreplay” in your marriage. Suggestions as simple as fixing a meal together or defining safe words for your marriage (not using the ‘d’ word) to lengthening your hug time to finding ways to purge and organize your finances. They encourage you to find a Money Mentor, ask tough (but necessary!) questions about how you work through finances and bills and how you prepare for the unknowns that might pop up. Excellent tips and questions to get you thinking outside the box in an area you might have felt comfortable and successful in.Overall, this book is such an excellent read with stories, humor, authenticity, practical tips and wisdom from people who have walked a difficult financial journey. They help the reader understand the importance of honest communication when it comes to finances but more importantly, how that honesty spills into other areas of our marriage. Excellent read! Run….don’t walk and go get this book! Or push the “buy now” button and get that book in your hands. You won’t regret it!

A Helpful Guide
First off, I must make it clear that my purchase of the kindlebook Your Money Your Marriage; The Secrets to Smart Finance, Spicy Romance, and their Intimate Connection by Cherie Lowe and Brian Lowe from the money I made at my current job is independent of the fact that I am blessed to be married to an amazing husband of 14 years who encourages me in both my personal and professional life. Fortunately my husband and I have jobs that have in a positive way brought us closer in our marriage and the increased money I am blessed to make in my job has also indirectly helped my weight loss goals. In August 2016 I hovered around the 190s weight wise and now fortunately I weigh 159 pounds which I feel excited to share because the last time I was 159 pounds was in 2007/early 2008 when I was around 27 years old. Why then you may wonder did I purchase this kindlebook then; Well, Iâm intuitively and logically aware that a lasting marriage benefits from continual nurturing, attention, and care even when I am cultivating my career and money goals and I try to get my hands on whatever information I can reasonably afford online andor offline in the ways of lasting marriages. Additionally, both of my late adoptive parents were an interracial couple (my late adoptive father was an American born Mexican and Aztec Indian male who passed away by July 2017 and my late adoptive mother was an American born woman of Caucasian including French ancestry who passed away in 2002) who were married for some time before the inevitable change in their marital union took place and although I heard two sides of the story from each of them on what happened (when they were still alive and I was in my teen years until my early 20s before my late adoptive mother unexpectedly passed way) I noticed one of the similar themes did have to do with money. As a result, I am on the lookout for information such as with this kindlebook that is Your Money, Your Marriage by Cherie Lowe and Brian Lowe. Some of the details included; some details from the early background lives of both authors and how they met, how they make time for each other and their money goals regardless of how often they are able to go out together, how they conquered some of their money challenges and more. I hope that the authors stay married together for many more happy years together. The only caveat is that I bring up is if they create a future edition together if more information can be included on creative ways to merge career and money goals together.

Not sure if this will apply to you?
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is a must read for any engaged or married couple! When I first got the book, I wasnât sure how applicable it would be. My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and we have worked hard to budget and stay on the same page with finances. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed Cherieâs first book and was intrigued by this one. Once again I found Cherie brings her conversational writing style to the pages of this new book, but this time with the assistance of her equally witty husband, Brian. The two of them together brilliantly and seamlessly present the voices from both sides of a marital conversation as they transparently bounce back and forth across the pages. I loved it!As I read the book, I recognized that it doesnât matter how long youâve been married⦠with each new season of marriage your approach to money and intimacy changes, whether it is a struggle for you or not. My husband and I laughed together as we recalled our early days of dating and marriage while reading the first chapter, and then reflected on some of the challenges we faced during difficult seasons as we read further into the book. I was challenged to start conversations about what this new season of âempty nestâ will look like as we begin to plan, prioritize and dream together walking forward from here.
