Very funny
Mystery Men, I think is a unrated movie. Taking a comedy action movie in a different. If you enjoy watching the clueless super heroes save the day then you should love this

A movie before it’s time
Mystery Men did not do well when it came out in theaters. And that is a shame. It is a parody of super hero movies before super hero movies were a thing. It came out before the first X-Men movie came out and really started the trend of super hero movies being popular. I believe that if it came out about 10 years later it would have been a hit since there would have been an established run of super hero movies to make a parody of.
The characters are just plain fun. They are well-meaning everyday people with everyday issues. Those everyday issues, however, are played lightheartedly so they don”t bog the movie down with philosophical musings. Without saying too much, the off the wall “super powers” of this group of wanna-be heroes is great- especially for those who are into super heroes and all the different powers that exist in the comic books.
The humor (it is a comedy) is sometimes sophomoric (it stars Ben Stiller after all), but it is mostly clean. It is very light on language. There is only one scene I feel slightly uncomfortable my kids seeing and one other 3-second shot I would skip. For the most part I would consider this a family friendly movie if you don’t mind jokes about bodily functions since there is a hero whose power revolves around said bodily functions.
Overall, this movie has been become one of my comfort movies. Watching it is like kicking back and spending some time with your friends and wishing there was a sequel (or even a trilogy). I talk about it often and recommend it for anyone who enjoys super hero movies but has gotten bored with what Hollywood has been putting out in that genre for the last 10 years.

I love this movie- funny, campy, memorable. It’s one I don’t mind watching over and over.

Time For Alternate Superheroes To Fight With a Vengeance
If Gotham City can boast of two masked guys in cape, Champion City has its own pride in Captain Amazing in costumes with tied-in products (actually very funny Greg Kinnear in dead serious mood). But now he is foolishly captured by vengeful Casanova Frankenstein (played by Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush in good comic style), so now, it is the time for our B-list superheroes to save the city !!
The most amazing part of “Mystery Men” is that this original idea is carried out by the first-rate cast. Let me introduce those brave actors one by one, who are reckless to wreck their precious caree…, I mean, their neck in this joyfully off-beat action-comedy.
Hank Azaria, as the Blue Raja, whose speciality is to throw folks (and his domineering mom is Louise Lasser)
William H. Macy, as the Shoveller, who is good at using you know what (and in fact pretty good too)
Ben Stiller, as Mr. Furious, who can display his great power only when he is angry.
To add these principal heroes, you can see:
Janeane Garofalo, as the Bowler, whose deadly bowling ball contains her father’s skull (don’t ask)
Kel Mitchel as the Invisible Boy, who is invisible only when nobody is watching him
Paul Reubens as The Spleen, who got a very stinking gaseous weapon to use
Tom Waits as Dr. Heller, an inventor of non-lethal weapons
Wes Studi as The Sphinx, whose leadership is often hindered by his redundant advice, making a good example of tautology.
Plus, you see even Eddie Izzard and Lena Olin (but their parts are both too small). The action scenes are competently done, and the production design and special effects are both decently made. The film sometimes takes itself too seriously (making some remarks on life, no, no), but when it gets into its actions, it gives lots of fun to us.
Oh, and I almost forgot to say that lovely Clair Forlani appears, but not as the Wonderwoman or something (shame, I expected that). Instead, you can see Michael Bay (yes, THAT director) as a frat boy, and he is even given a line to say!
THE VHS SPECIAL EDITION has a 10 minute behind-the-scene footage featuring the interviews of the cast and crew. its reveals how Janeane Garofalo throws this heavy ball across a swimming pool, and it’s a surprisingly simple trick. Funny.

ð¬ Movie Review: “Mystery Men” ð¦¸ââï¸
Its for me, might not be for you. Defiantly a great hero’s comedy.
“Mystery Men” is a delightful comedy that brings together a quirky ensemble cast and a unique take on the superhero genre. Directed by Kinka Usher, this film offers a refreshing blend of humor, action, and absurdity that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages.
At the heart of the film are the “Mystery Men” themselves, a group of unlikely heroes with extraordinary powers but questionable abilities. Led by the charismatic Mr. Furious (played by Ben Stiller), this ragtag team embarks on a mission to save Champion City from the clutches of the villainous Casanova Frankenstein (played by Geoffrey Rush).
What sets “Mystery Men” apart is its irreverent humor and clever satire of superhero tropes. From the hilariously inept superheroes to the over-the-top villains, the film revels in its absurdity while delivering plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
Ben Stiller shines in his role as Mr. Furious, bringing his signature comedic charm and impeccable timing to the character. His interactions with the rest of the cast, including William H. Macy, Hank Azaria, and Janeane Garofalo, are a highlight of the film and contribute to its overall charm.
While “Mystery Men” may not have achieved the same level of recognition as other superhero films, it has earned a dedicated cult following thanks to its offbeat humor and endearing characters. With its memorable quotes and memorable scenes, it’s a film that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
In conclusion, “Mystery Men” is a hilarious and underrated gem that deserves a spot in any comedy lover’s movie collection. Whether you’re a fan of superhero movies or just looking for a good laugh, this film is guaranteed to entertain.

Consigliato a tutti indistintamente…

â¦Not your classic heroes⦠the other guys.
This is to superhero movies what Galaxy Quest is to sci-fi. A tongue-in-cheek take on the MCU before it was even a thing. Great banter, unusual âpowersâ, non-lethal weapons. What more could you want?
All others are number two, or lower.
