    Incredibly helpful and wonderfully written!
This book has been so incredibly helpful and really helped me dive deeper into some of my own issues stemming from how I was raised and how I can get past those feelings to be the mom I want to be to my son. For Moms in ALL Seasons of Motherhood!
This book is a must-read for all mothers, whether you’re just starting your motherhood journey or have been on it for years. From the moment I opened this book, I was captivated by Dr. Morgan’s insightful and compassionate writing. She shares her own experiences and vulnerabilities, letting you know you’re not alone in your journey of motherhood. What truly sets the book apart is that it’s not full of things to add to your already long list of how to be a better mother, therefore adding to the guilt you already carry, but it gives simple perspective changes that have profound impacts on how you view yourself which directly impacts your relationships with others. I cannot recommend it enough and am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my own journey as a mother.

Good book with examples. a little long so I recommend the audible version
It’s a nice hardcover book filled with text and almost no illustrations. There is an audio book version I really recommend the audible for moms because:1) you can listen to it while working on other things (especially for busy mom who needs this book)2) this book is filled with text and almost no illustrations, so you won’t miss anything! It has about 250 pages, but it is light and easy to carry and read, making it convenient to read whenever you find a free moment. I think this is a positive aspect, especially for those who need this book the most – burnt-out moms who have limited time and need to find small pockets to read. The lightweight design of the book makes it easy to carry and read anywhere. (Note that in the book, there is a QR code on page 122 that leads you to the resources of the book, including RAM worksheets, Impossible Standards, and Challenge Hang-ups.)The book delves into why you may feel like you’re losing yourself and helps you understand how you got there. Dr. Cutlip dedicates about 100 pages to discussing the five key steps: knowing deeply, trusting accurately, relying boldly, committing wisely, and touching purposefully. These steps are crucial in overcoming guilt and beating burnout for moms. To illustrate why and how to implement these steps, Dr. Cutlip shares numerous personal examples involving her son (Roy), daughter (Effie), and husband (Chad). Many of these examples are relatable and resonate with me who had experienced similar situations. One example that stood out to me is about trust, the second step. In this example, Dr. Cutlip describes her son Roy, who wanted her to take him to the potty. Despite her efforts, Roy’s tone and words were demanding and impatient. Dr. Cutlip uses this example to emphasize the importance of focusing on different aspects and adjusting our perception. She highlights the need to see Roy as a worried child rather than a demanding tyrant and to regulate our own responses. One of the central concepts Dr. Cutlip persuades us to embrace is treating ourselves with the same care and understanding as we do our children. She advocates for being a good-enough mom rather than striving for perfection, as being a good-enough mom is often more effective. After reading the book, I realized the value of changing my perspective and seeking to understand children’s behavior. This shift in focus has helped me significantly reduce my anxiety. One downside is that I think the book is a little long. Perhaps this is because the book is written in a way that feels like Dr. Cutlip is having a conversation with you. It sounds as though she recorded her discussions with friends about these topics and then later polished and reorganized them into a book format. While I like this conversational style, I can’t help but think that the book could be condensed a bit more to cater to busy burnt-out moms who may prefer a quicker read.Any way, overall a good book for me. 4.4 start out of 5.0. Rounds to 4 stars.

    Straightforward & Inspiring
I have really enjoyed this book! Not only has it helped improve my relationship with myself, but it’s provided valuable insight to my relationships with my spouse and kids. It’s the least cringey form of a “self-help” and parenting book you can find! The QR codes to access actionable tools are *chef’s kiss*. It’s hard to put the whole book in to words, but I promise it was worth every valuable minute spent reading it!

Seriously the best book for moms!
This book is a MUST read! I recommend it to all of my mom friends or soon to be moms! I preordered the physical book and couldn’t wait to get it in the mail! I listened to the audio book first (read by Dr. Morgan herself- super pleasant voice to listen to!) and then dove into the physical copy and downloaded the companion guide (and every other downloadable content on her website because- well, she’s awesome!)

    Okay
Great for moms who may be struggling withoverwhelm. This book may have been more beneficial for me for my first kid and before other studies I’ve participated in. Nonetheless, good info.

  7. David Carter

    Great book!
She put words to my feelings so well and helped me to understand the roots of what I was really struggling with! The information was easily applied and started helping right away. I would recommend this book to any moms who feel “lost” in motherhood.

    Amazing Book
Tonight I finished the book and wow. I learned so much about myself. Thank you! This mama needed to hear it all. I already feel more in control about how I handle and react to high stress mama situations. Just yesterday I had a ‘Poof at the Park’ moment. I could feel myself spiraling down a dark hole of negative thoughts. I immediately started checking in with myself. And like mentioned in the last part of the book, it didn’t make the situation disappear but it helped define the experience and that was freeing ❤️ loved this book and would recommend to any mama!

I only read a little bit but it seems ok.
