    Just what I’ve been looking for
    Eating well is a tough job given all the horrible food choices EVEYWHERE and the conflicting information regarding what the good choices are. Joy McCarthy brings her real knowledge of nutrition backed by education together with a personal history of food issues to address what it takes to eat well and be well. The book is easily read but packed with science based research and fact. She makes things simple and stress free. A chapter on what foods to ditch and why, followed by a chapter on the super foods and 5 super-joyous lifestyle habits. It is chock full of really tasty, easy, and super healthy recipes using all her nutritional expertise and skill in the kitchen. This is my new favorite book and will be a gift for a couple of friends.

    Great recipes, easy to read, and really inspiring to get on the track to good health. With these recipes, you will not crave sugar, you will be satisfied because every recipe is so delicious. You will not feel like you are depriving yourself, and that makes it a sustainable healthy diet . Every recipe is quick and easy and most importantly: delicious. I bought this book for other family members because it is so good.

    This is a fantastic introduction to health living and eating. The book has great and easy to make recipes, meal plans, information on chemicals in beauty products and much more. The book has attractive photos and a cute layout. Joy is fabulous and I’m becoming a big fan down here in New Zealand. I highly recommend it.

    While Joy herself is adorable and the first part of the books is excellent!!! and SO inspiring, I think the section with recipes is very lacking in meals that have any satisfaction…I could only find two “dinner” type recipes my family would eat. Its great for smoothies and very light breakfasts or lunches, but not “real” meals. It is heavy on recipes for deserts. 4 stars just for the great research up front. It changed the way I look at food. Burgers and fries are a distant memory.

    A wonderful book to own! The information is great. This book is so nice to read! It’s not just words on a page- the advice is solid- the message is both encouraging and empowering. (The pages are pretty too)
    It not often I would make a comment on the book itself but I like the look and positive energy of this book!
    It’s wonderful to have food, nutrition, & health information on hand thats easy to read & understand.

    What is in this book is a treasure trove of great recipes and useful advice, for anyone looking to feel great, eat healthy, and look good doing it. The ingredients are easy to find…at a natural foods store and/or this thing called the WORLD WIDE WEB, for anyone who can’t find what you need. Try it out and feel great.

    A Book Everyone Should Buy!
    After purchasing mine I bought two more to give to my sons. Have study nutrition for many years and found a number of new and helpful advise in this book. She writes like she is sitting right next to you, making it an easy and fun read. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about health.

    Got this last week and have already read through the whole thing and made a numbers of the recipes. All of the recipes I’ve made so far have been HUGE hits with the picky eaters in our house. If you’re able, check out her YouTube site and website – so many great tips and recipes.

    I’ve seen Joy McCarthy talking health and nutrition on numerous television shows; with Dr. Bryce Wylde, Global Morning Show, ET Canada and The Chris and Steven Show. She grabbed my interest because of her positivity, clear information, and infectious enthusiasm. Now here is a whole collection of the above and more. I was wishing for a book.I’m learning how to incorporate more whole nutritious foods in to my world, and the book is like talking to a friend. It is an informative read that is written in a way that draws the reader in. No dry slog here. This lady is professional, and her recipes are DELICIOUS. I’m just getting started! So far the kale salad with oranges and pecans is scrumptious. Love the carrot and ginger soup. The pancakes are amazing, now I’m drooling on the keyboard. I’m finally not intimidated to walk in to whole organic food stores. Now I can know what I’m choosing, and what to do with it. I can tell that Joy is a foodie big time, and has lovingly cooked her way in to my heart, and stomach. She offers flavor, and health I can’t believe how much over all health info she has actually covered here. It is a good sized book. Cutting edge and up to date. Good value for your money. Beautifully photographed, and illustrated, it is a joy to read and cook with. I hope she will continue her book writing, because I like her, and her style of presentation.

    Ich war mir zunächst nicht sicher ob dieses Buch mich in meinen Kochkünsten weiterbringt, zumal ich meist nicht immer alle Rezepte mag. Ich wurde eines Besseren belehrt. Dieses Kochbuch hat nicht nur super leckere Rezepte, Joy McCarthy erklärt auch einen Menge interessante Fakten zum Thema Ernährung inklusive der Funktion der verschiedensten Organe. Viele werden jetzt sagen, dass sie keine Lust haben, diese Texte komplett durchzulesen, allerdings schreibt Joy die Texte so interessant, dass ich gar nicht mehr aufhörten konnte zu lesen. Ein wirklich guter Ratgeber und ich bereue es keine Sekunde, dieses Buch bestellt zu haben.

Die Autorin und Ernährungsberaterin beschreibt ihre Erfahrungen aus der Praxis. Sie zählt ihre Ernährungsempfehlungen nicht nur auf, sondern begründet diese auch sehr einleuchtend. Auch wenn so manches nicht neu ist, so schafft Joy McCarthy es doch neu zu interpretieren. Für mich, eine Neo-Veganerin, die Ernährungsratgeber liebt und verschlingt, ist dieses Buch gerade ein absoluter Favorit!
