Cook with confidence and find inspiration with Gordon Ramsay’s fun, delicious recipes for novice cooks and experienced chefs alike.

Based on a new cooking show, this book will give experienced as well as novice cooks the desire, confidence and inspiration to get cooking. Ramsay will offer simple, accessible recipes with a “wow” factor. Gordon has travelled the world from India and the Far East to LA and Europe, and the recipes in this book will draw all these culinary influences together to show us simple, vibrant and delicious recipes that reflect the way we eat today. For example: Miso braised salmon fillet with Asian vegetables, Pork and Bacon slider with home made bbq sauce, Curried Sweetcorn Soup, Wild Mushroom Risotto Arrancini, and Baked Lemon Cheesecake with Raspberries.

Each chapter will concentrate on a different area of cooking–from the classics to the secret of cooking with Chili and spice, through roasting, baking, and helpful sections on cooking good food for less and cooking for a crowd. Woven into the book will be useful tricks and tips–from ways to save time and money, to cleaning and prepping ingredients, to pan frying like a pro.

Stuffed full of delicious recipes, invaluable tips and lashings of Gordon’s trademark cheeky wit, Gordon Ramsay’s Home Cooking is the ultimate cooking lesson from the ultimate chef.

A great book for my collection
The recipes are so easy and down to earth. Food you will love to fix and actually eat unlike so many cookbooks out there. Gordon rocks!

    Best Cookbook Ever
This cookbook is heavy and sturdy and stands up nicely on a cookbook stand. The pages are thick and feels like a high quality book. I love how Gordon describes his recipes and he also describes tips on what type of basic cookware every home chef needs. He gives great advice on kitchen essentials outside of the recipes and the book is easy to read. Buy this book.

Superior Recipes, Yet Accessible. Elevate Your Home Cooking
I own the more famous Salt Fat Acid Heat (more famous in the cookbook world, that is) and then this cookbook by Gordon Ramsay. Ramsey’s book is superior, and I have worked through both books. His recipes are simple yet elegant. He elevates everyday ingredients. Please excuse any typos as this is voice to text. Gordon’s recipes and techniques are accessible. The ingredients that he asks you to have in your pantry, you should already have if you are a home cook.
I am of course referring to:
    Salt and Pepper
    Cumin,
    Turmeric,
    Garam Masala,
    Coriander
    Ginger
    Garlic
    Olive Oil
    Rice Vingegar
    Balsamic Vinegar
Basics like lentils, flour, olive oil
These spices are used fairly commonly now whereas perhaps in the 90’s they were not. In fact, those are pretty basic spices for today’s home cook. H Ramsay’s recipes are simply classy. He can elevate even something as simple as green beans. And believe it or not, with this book you will actually be superior to many chefs at restaurants. Prepare to feel better about yourself, prepare to feel classy. And to save a ton of money. This book will make you feel great, but you really need to take your time with it and read the recipe slowly and read his suggestions and the introductions to the chapter slowly. I would recommend a slow work through of the book for 3 months, followed by daily reference use of the book for a year to get its full benefit.

    Good book
Got it as a gift, the book came as pictured and I am excited to give it!

Solid cookbook but pretty high level
Bought it for the beef wellington recipe but the ingredients are pretty hard to find and the recipe takes 2 days. Great for an aspirational high level cook but tough for the average person.

Honest to goodness, food that WOWs!
I didn’t know until after I bought this book and read other reviews that this cookbook has essentially a companion cooking tv series that aired in the UK under the same name as the UK version of this cookbook–Ultimate Cookery Course. He really breaks everything down so easy, so understandable so that you feel like I can really take on these recipes and his food and do it justice.
Having been an avid GR fan for years now, and having indulged in eating at two of his restaurants, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try to challenge myself to make some of his delicious food. I am just a homecook with no prior knowledge or formal training in the kitchen. I have never worked in the food industry in any capacity unless a 1-week stint at Starbucks counts. In fact, I didn’t even start cooking much of anything harder than ramen and scrambled eggs until my mid-20’s (and I’m on the verge of turning 30 now). The fact that I’ve been able to learn so much and elevate my own abilities simply by reading and following many of the tips Gordon’s included in this book and on the tv series has been kind of a gamechanger for me. I used to eat out TONS, but there’s really little need to do so (except for the occasional quick bite or the indulgent dining experience) when I can simply throw something together that’s super flavorful and intensely yummy just by following Gordon’s instructions.
I’ve only tried a couple of the recipes out of this book so far, and though I have to make some substitutions here and there if I can’t find a certain ingredient (and I live in an area where many culturally diverse foods would be fairly easy to track down, given the nature of ultra-picky/health-conscious/foodie Californian tastes). Each recipe has been a HIT! The boyfriend has loved each recipe, and I’ve basically been craving more of Gordon’s Chile Beef Lettuce Wraps since I’ve had them. I’ve also been itching to make variations on his souffle…
The point is–even if you don’t consider yourself a MasterChef, this book is easy enough to follow. There’s definitely a marked Middle Eastern/Indian and Asian influence throughout the book, and a whole section on cooking with spices/chilies, but be adventurous! Try them all! I probably will.

Must have for any serious cook!
    What a brilliant cook book!
I am a very good cook already but this book will get me to the next level. I did my training in Europe and I love his approach to food. He uses real ingrediants and does not just smother everything in heavy cream, deep fry everything or oversweeten things.
His style of cooking is old fashinoned. Use fresh, real ingrediants, put some time in (a lot of recipes are not time consuming at all but taste delicious!) add an interesting twist and voila, you get a great meal.
I like the way the book is written and his approach to average people. He is a world class chef but does not talk down to you.
The recipes are explained in a very simple and logical way and easy to follow.
I also love how he does not just tell you what to do next – he explains you “why” certain things are done a certain way. I have picked up a bunch of good tips already.
What this book achieves is, he makes you think and introduces you to not only new recipes, but to a world of spices and combination of foods that I never considered.
I have many, many cookbooks, but this has to be one of my top favourite ones.

    Easy and Delicious
These recipes are very simple, elegant, and delicious! I love the explanation for a good set of knives and kitchen equipment you actually need and not all the fluff they try to sell you. I look forward to making more recipes from here. Great edition to my slim cookbook collection.
